Rebecca's 'Ruc Catala' Cocktail

Made with ingredients native to Catalunya.


Combine in a saucepan:

3.5 cups water (830 ml. d'aigua).
1.5 cups fine sugar
(360 grams de sucre).

1 bunch of fresh mint- leaves only (20 - 30 fulles de menta).
8 dried Black Mission figs, cut into small pieces (figues seques).
1/2 cantalope, cut into small pieces (cantaloupe)

Bring to a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes (bullir a foc lent).

Strain and pour into a wine bottle.  Makes about 750 ml (colar i abocar).

Mix with cava to serve, 1 part cocktail mix to 4 parts cava (barrejar amb cava).
